He then attended California State University, Fullerton, to pursue a degree in business.
Known for his portrayals of "everyman" characters, Kevin Costner often finds himself in challenging circumstances. In a career spanning more than three decades, he has worked in a number of films and television series, including action movies, romance films and westerns. He made his directorial debut in 1989 with the film "Field of Dreams," which was successful both with critics and at the box office. Costner also starred in "Dances with Wolves" (1990), which was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful, in addition to directing and producing the film. The film won seven Academy Awards, including best picture and best director.
